While learning to write I had to learn to be me. Then I began to see how it is possible it write like I was someone else. The temptation is always to please others. And when it is not it is tempting to try to do your own thing, no matter what it is. It is easier and deeper and more complicated. Being true doesn't mean doing or writing what ever jumps out of your imagination. Ask any great person.
the first thing you think usually needs some fixing to be exceptional.
